IHRSA 2022: The State of the Art
The International Health, Racquet, and Sportsclub Association held their annual conference at the Miami Convention Center from June 22-24, 2022.
Shaping the future of the fitness industry, the yearly IHRSA convention is a fantastic opportunity for attendees, vendors, speakers, and exhibitors to experience and promote the latest and greatest in exercise, athletic training, healing, and fitness business tools and tech.
There are over three hundred exhibitors, six thousand fitness industry professionals, and one hundred and twenty-five expert presenters that help make this one of the world’s largest conventions of its kind.
ARX at IHRSA 2022!
This was ARX’s second appearance at the IHRSA national convention, and we were pleased that the response to our technology was even more robust than last time.
This is a very mainstream show, and the majority of attendees have years of experience with weight rooms and all the tools one might find there. This means that there is a large educational component to any explanation of our twenty-first century technology.
It’s one thing to teach someone something new. It’s an entirely different thing to help someone unlearn something they’ve previously learned, and then teach them something new.
…but these attendees were game to learn more!
After a lifetime of sub-par resistance from tools like weights, elastic bands, and their own body weight, the folks who stopped by our booth very quickly realized that ARX represents something truly different.
Nothing New Under The Sun
One of the common criticisms of the modern fitness industry is that there are no major innovations in the actual equipment being used.
Yes, there are great new ways to track performance, apps that compile data, and sexier equipment to attract gym-goers. But the actual tools are the same as they were decades, sometimes even centuries ago.
For example:
Leading The Way to The Future
There will come a day when ARX is not the only Adaptive Resistance™ technology at a mainstream show like this.
Some folks build pneumatic resistance devices, but they don’t quite measure up to what ARX can do.
Others build isometric devices, but still can’t quite match our technology’s capabilities.
There are technologies that target fast-twitch muscle fiber development, but still cannot match our protocols for this purpose.
And there are even motorized pieces of equipment that allow for greater loading in the eccentric phase than the concentric phase. But they still don’t do everything ARX can do to utilize eccentric resistance.
Onward!
